These School Rules and Regulations guide the behaviour, discipline, rights, and responsibilities of all learners of Elegu Islamic Nursery and Primary School. They are made to help learners grow academically, morally, spiritually, and socially in a safe and peaceful environment.
All learners must obey these rules in school, on the way to and from school, and during any school activity.
Every learner shall:
Respect Allah (SWT), teachers, school staff, fellow learners, and visitors.
Obey all lawful instructions given by school authorities.
Uphold Islamic values, good morals, and discipline.
Protect the good name of the school at all times.
Ignorance of school rules shall not be accepted as an excuse.
  1. Learners must attend school every school day unless excused by a parent or guardian.
  2. Learners must arrive at school on time for:
    • Morning assembly
    • Lessons
    • Prayers
    • Co-curricular activities
  3. Late coming without a valid reason is not allowed.
  4. Absence from school must be explained by a parent or guardian.
  5. Truancy (missing school without permission) is a serious offence.
  1. Learners shall:
    • Attend all lessons and complete all assignments.
    • Study seriously and prepare for tests and examinations.
    • Carry required books and learning materials daily.
  2. Cheating, copying, or any form of examination malpractice is strictly prohibited.
  3. Learners shall respect teachers during lessons and not disrupt learning.
  1. Learners shall:
    • Speak politely and use respectful language at all times.
    • Greet teachers and elders respectfully.
    • Follow school routines and timetables.
  2. The following are strictly prohibited:
    • Fighting, bullying, teasing, or threatening others.
    • Using abusive, insulting, or obscene language.
    • Stealing or damaging school or personal property.
    • Lying, dishonesty, or disobedience.
  3. Learners must move calmly and quietly within the school compound.
  1. Learners shall:
    • Observe Islamic teachings, including honesty, kindness, humility, and respect.
    • Participate in Islamic prayers and religious activities organized by the school.
  2. Learners shall dress and behave modestly in accordance with Islamic principles.
  3. Non-Muslim learners shall respect Islamic practices of the school.
  1. Learners must wear the prescribed school uniform at all times.
  2. Uniforms must be:
    • Clean
    • Neat
    • Properly worn
  3. Hair must be:
    • Neatly trimmed for boys
    • Neatly plaited or covered appropriately for girls
  4. The following are not allowed:
    • Jewellery (except small earrings for girls if permitted)
    • Makeup or nail polish
    • Fancy or indecent hairstyles
    • Writing on uniforms
  1. Learners shall:
    • Keep their bodies, uniforms, and school environment clean.
    • Use toilets properly and wash hands regularly.
  2. Learners must report:
    • Sickness
    • Injuries
    • Accidents
    • Any dangerous situation
      to a teacher immediately.
  3. Running in corridors or unsafe play is prohibited.
Learners shall not bring the following items to school:
  • Sharp objects or weapons
  • Mobile phones and electronic devices (unless authorized)
  • Alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, or tobacco
  • Pornographic or indecent materials
  • Matches, lighters, or explosives
Any prohibited item found shall be confiscated and disciplinary action taken.
 
 
 
 
 
  1. Learners must take good care of:
    • School buildings
    • Furniture
    • Books
    • Learning materials
  2. Writing on desks, walls, or books is prohibited.
  3. Any learner who damages school property shall be disciplined and may be required to pay for repairs.
  1. Every learner has the right to:
    • Safety and protection from abuse
    • Respect and fair treatment
    • Education in a child-friendly environment
  2. Learners shall:
    • Not abuse or harm others
    • Report any form of abuse, bullying, or mistreatment to a trusted teacher.
  3. Corporal punishment is not allowed under Ugandan law.
Discipline shall be corrective and educative, not harmful. Possible actions include:
  • Guidance and counselling
  • Verbal or written warnings
  • Extra school work (non-punitive)
  • Temporary suspension in serious cases, following MoES guidelines
  1. Learners shall participate in:
    • School assemblies
    • Sports and games
    • Religious and cultural activities
  2. Learners representing the school must display exemplary conduct.
  1. All learners must obey these rules and regulations.
  2. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action.
  3. These rules apply within and outside school during school-related activities.
